TEAM ONBOARDING

WHAT IS IT?

REEL TEAM ONBOARDING is a two-part process in which new team members first discover their story hidden within their favorite movies, and then, secondly, share their story with their new team. However, instead of their story being communicated verbally, new team members share visually who they are, what they want, what comes against them and how they want to be supported.  

WHO IS IT FOR?

REEL TEAM ONBOARDING is for team leaders wanting to create an intentional on-ramp for their new hires, to accelerate their desire to assimilate, collaborate and contribute to their new team.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

New team members form a cohort to share together in a 2 half day or 1 full day experience to find their story in their movies. Day 1 is a 2.5 hour experience to explore the lenses of character and desire. Day 2 is a 3 hour experience to explore the lenses of conflict, change and support.  New team members are showcased to their team in a separate session where they share their insights visually.  Existing team members are encouraged to find how their story intersects with the new team member’s movies.

WHAT ARE THE OUTCOMES?

When a new team member feels seen and known, they will hit the ground running with a higher degree of engagement and desire to collaborate. It is common that it takes 6 months for trust to develop between a new hire and their team. We reduce that time to 2-3 hours.  Likewise, as so many new hires are coming onto teams virtually, we bridge this gap in connection by providing intentional time and content that allow for assimilation to happen, despite it being remote.
