WHAT IS IT?

REEL LISTENING is an experience that fosters important conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion. More importantly, it allows each participants’ stories to be heard and seen more clearly by the team, using a person’s favorite movies to visually articulate lived experiences that often cannot be put into words. We know team leaders want to break down the barriers to authentic conversations so that everyone feels supported and valued – so let your team’s movies do the talking

WHO IS IT FOR?

REEL LISTENING is for teams who wish to find ways to have fun and authentic conversations around DEI topics.  It is for team leaders, as well as, DEI leaders who are looking for something innovative, interactive and experiential in the DEI space.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

REEL LISTENING is a series of six 3-hour experiences.  However, we do offer a single day experience that is customizable to the needs of your team. The six sessions can be virtual or face-to-face and include the topics of: a) Ready your heart to listen b) Reveal – Who am I? c) Reconsider – How do you see me and how do I want you to see me? d) Reshape – What separates us? e) Repair – Where do we go from here? Participants explore clips from their individual favorite movies as visual articulations of these topics.

WHAT ARE THE OUTCOMES?

The central idea behind REEL experiences is to enable team members to be seen more clearly through the movies that they love. When a team member feels seen, they also feel valued, which can elevate their voice. For a team leader, the outcome from our REEL Listening series is having the necessary insights and posture to support your team and elevate team members’ value and voices.  Ultimately, the desired outcome of this REEL experience is empathy- the ability to put yourself in the shoes of someone else.

VIDEOS & TESTIMONIALS

Bryan worked with me through R&D to create a D&I workshop portion that incorporated the Top movies amongst the Employee Resource Group to help provide a voice for support needed from the company to ensure we bring our best selves to work.  Bryan was exceptional with listening, talking feedback, and providing valuable knowledge.  His willingness to heighten his understanding of D&I concerns from people of color and remove the hesitation from non-people of color, proved to be rewarding and insightful.  He has an amazing ability to bridge gaps and show cultural differences while honoring universal similarities”
